Update:
Micro? Micro and I got to spend the night together on my office floor. We read books and asked God to keep us safe. Micro even thanked God for God. Seemed silly at first, but perhaps the most appropriate prayer of all.

After prayers, he said, "Momma, we snuggle?" Sure, buddy. So we did. And he anxiously kicked me and scratched up my legs with his pointy toe nails. And my calm, soothing voice got to a "Lay down or you'll be in time out" voice. (It worked... # momftw ). ... He rolled off the air bed onto the floor at least seven times. But we got some rest.

He shot awake this morning and asked where Papa Wayne was (my boss aka stand in grandpa). They played together while I got dressed and I just dropped him off at the daycare. It wasn't pretty - it involved screaming, tears, and clawing. Perhaps toddlers have a way of expressing outwardly what all the adults are trying to hide.

Staff? Staff is anxious, but we are coming together. A PCT helped me unravel cellophane that was wrapped around my hand as I tried to cover my breakfast tray. A staff member came to our office to see if chaplains are available to meet one-on-one with staff who are in recovery and can't attend their AA meetings. Absolutely, 100%. Environmental Services are keeping our bathrooms pristine so we have a clean place to get dressed. There is an energy here unlike I've never seen. Like we're at summer camp, minus archery and craft time. long wedding dresses

Y'all? I cannot emphasize it enough: PLEASE be careful as you do last minute prepping for your home. If you're not careful, you may end up with a nice bed at Tampa General. Perhaps a warm bed, hot shower, and breakfast in bed sounds tempting, but we'd prefer you be healthy and well with your family.

Irms? Someone in their sleepy haziness called Irma "Irms" last night. We laughed and he immediately shot back that they've known each other so long that they're now on a nickname basis. For real though...doesn't it feel like months??

I haven't checked the news this morning. Maybe I'm being a chicken. Maybe I'm just waiting for my lexapro to kick in. But I promise you I'm not in denial. The LuLaRoe shirt in the picture? It's an Irma.

Bring it on, woman. We're ready for you.
